The North Dakota State University (NDSU), Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) hosted the 4th Western Regional Commercial Vehicle Safety Summit. The Summit was co-hosted with the Colorado State Patrol.

The focus of the Summit was on projects that utilize technologies designed to promote safe driving behaviors (either in a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) and/or in a non-CMV in/around CMVs) and on projects that demonstrate crash analysis tools capable of identifying high-risk corridors and traffic areas for the purposes of enforcement planning and deploying other CMV-related crash countermeasures. Research, resources, best practices, and partnerships were highlighted in these areas. In addition, there was discussion of hot topics and emerging trends.
