Casey Matlock is a Motor Carrier Specialist III in the Motor Carrier Safety Program at California Highway Patrol (CHP) Headquarters. Casey's responsibilities include but are not limited to; statewide oversite of controlled substances and alcohol testing compliance inspections and Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT). Additionally, Casey is responsible for ensuring departmental compliance with commercial motor vehicle operation, and commercial driver-controlled substances and alcohol testing requirements.
Casey has held multiple positions with CHP, starting with Automotive Technician, Motor Carrier Specialist I, II, and III. He has worked in the Department's commercial program for the past 17 years. While at Commercial Vehicle Section, has served as liaison with several federal and state agencies regarding motor carrier operations. Casey has worked with the California Highway Patrol for 25 years and began his career with the Department following serving his country in the United States Army, as a heavy wheel vehicle mechanic.
