Speaker Bio

Captain Brian Cocagne is the commander of the California Highway Patrol's (CHP) Commercial Vehicle Section located at CHP Headquarters in Sacramento, California. CHPs Commercial Vehicle Section is responsible for the Department's commercial enforcement program (CEP) with the primary mission to ensure the safe and efficient operation of commercial vehicles on the California highway system.
Captain Cocagne served six years active duty in the United States Army prior to joining the CHP in 1999. Captain Cocagne has served in several other positions, including Commander of the South Lake Tahoe CHP area, Collision Investigation Unit, Coastal CHP Division Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) and several field assignments.
