Speaker Bio

Kelly Stowe is a general engineer in the Applied Research Division at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). In this role, she plans, develops, and manages a variety of research projects focused on commercial driver and motor carrier safety. In her previous role at the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, Kelly led and supported a diverse portfolio of U.S. Department of Transportation analysis, research, and technology projects. Kelly has a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and a master’s degree from Michigan State University. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute and a senior-level project manager through the Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) program. Kelly lives in Acton, Massachusetts, with her husband, two elementary-aged children, a doodle, a poodle, and three crazy cats. In her free time, she enjoys DIY home improvement projects, crocheting, singing, reading, and trying out new recipes, among other things.
