Term Description
United States Department of Labor (DOL)
A cabinet-level federal agency whose responsibilities include waivers of the labor protection provision of Section 13(c) of the Federal Transportation Act of 1964, as amended. The Department of Labor administers a variety of federal labor laws including those that guarantee worker's rights to safe and healthful working conditions; a minimum hourly wage and overtime pay; freedom from employment discrimination; unemployment insurance; and other income support.
