Term Description

Travel Training Program

A service for individuals (usually senior citizens and persons with disabilities) which informs people about the accessible transit options available and teaches passengers how to use the transit system. Through individualized coaching, customers are able to practice embarking and disembarking safely, learn how to read route maps and schedules, etc. By understanding how to use the transit system, individuals who have participated in the travel training program gain confidence in traveling and accessing community-based services.
