High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV)

A vehicle carrying two or more persons. Examples of high occupancy vehicles are a bus, vanpool and carpool. These vehicles sometimes have exclusive traffic lanes called "HOV lanes," or "commuter lanes" which are marked with a diamond and HOV signs.
