Fuel Cell (Fuel Cell Technology)

A device which produces electrical energy directly from the controlled electromechanical oxidation of hydrogen fuel. A fuel cell employs a chemical process to convert hydrogen and oxygen into electricity which powers a motor. Since there is no combustion, the bus does not emit smog-producing exhaust – just water vapor. It does not contain an intermediate heat cycle, as do most other electrical generation techniques.
