Federal Interagency Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility

A partnership of 11 federal agencies working together to implement President Bush's Executive Order on Human Transportation issued in February 2004. Besides the Department of Transportation, the Council includes the Departments of: Health and Human Services; Education; Labor; Veteran's Affairs; Agriculture; Housing and Urban Development; and the Interior; as well as the Attorney General, and the Commissioner of Social Security. The Council's mission focuses on two main areas: 1) coordinated human service transportation and 2) vehicle sharing, to assist people with disabilities, lower income families and older adults get the transportation they need for their day-to-day mobility.
