![]() Academic Conduct, Leadership, and Ethics in Transportation (TL 789)Instructors and Contact InformationDr. Jill Hough, 410 Quentin Burdick Building Bulletin DescriptionThis course focuses on leadership, ethics, and academic conduct in students' educational program, but then goes on to explore theories, concepts, and practices of leadership and ethics that students may apply to their career. Students will be exposed to irrefutable laws of leadership as well as principles for being a person of influence. They will learn theories of ethics and business ethics today focusing on transportation. They will learn how to identify ethical dilemmas and tools to assist in decision making. One outcome of the course is for students to develop and write their own personal code of conduct to apply in school and in their careers. Course ObjectivesThe objective of this course is to expose students to academic conduct, principles in leadership, and theories and applications as they apply to ethics. There are ever increasing scandals in the business world and individuals are exposed to ethical dilemmas frequently. This course is designed to better equip students to become ethical leaders and help them to make more ethical decisions based upon theories and practice. AttendanceAccording to NDSU Policy 333, attendance in classes is expected. Class attendance is not a direct component of the course grade, but participation in class and online discussion boards accounts for 10% of the grade. Students unable to participate in class are expected to make up for it by participating in the online discussion boards. If you cannot attend a class, it is a courtesy to inform your instructor in advance if possible. Late assignments will have an automatic 10% deducted. Course Schedule / Calendar of Events
