Abstract

Mobility is an important necessary condition for successful participation in the U.S. socioeconomic system. As the U.S. has advanced socially, politically, and economically, so has the need for mobility by its' citizens. Life for individuals without the transportation necessary to join in events such as work, shopping, or worship, is severely degraded. The objective of this study is to identify the transit needs and services for the disadvantages and evaluate the level at which these needs are currently being met. In addition, recommendations will be made for improving the transit services for the disadvantaged.
