Project Details
AbstractThe purpose of this study was to assist the City of Bismarck and the NDDOT in assessing existing traffic operations and evaluating possible improvement strategies for the Tyler Parkway and Burnt Boat Dr. intersection in Bismarck. The study consisted of collecting field traffic data at the intersection to estimate traffic counts, delays, and identify unsafe maneuvers. The data collection was performed using ATAC's Traffic Data Collection System with its Autoscope machine vision processing. The VISSIM traffic simulation model was used to evaluate performance of the intersection under various traffic control and geometric strategies.
