Issues Impacting the Motor Carrier Industry

In an industry that is a perfect example of economic theory at play there are many issues impacting how the trucking moves goods. This session will provide the audience an overview of the overall impact of the industry, the business challenges trucking executives face, and regulatory load that governs the industry.

Thomas A. Balzer, CAE; Executive Vice President; North Dakota Motor Carrier Association

Thomas A. Balzer, CAE is the executive vice president of the North Dakota Motor Carriers Association, a post he has held since August of 2006. Balzer has over eleven years of experience in the transportation field including spending five years as the recreation division manager with the North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department working with alternative transportation issues. He serves on the advisory board of the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute and is a member of the Trucking Associations Executives Council. Balzer has over 14 years of association management experience and was credentialed by the American Society of Association Executives as a Certified Association Executive in 2006.
