Transportation Seminar Series
Amtrak and Commuter Trains
January 14, 2010
2009's Northstar train is the newest railroad commuter line in the country. It links downtown Minneapolis with a cornfield near Big Lake, Minnesota. The phenomenon of railroad suburban passenger trains started with our first railroad, the Baltimore & Ohio, and serves two dozen cities today. We'll discuss the growth and resurgence of the railroad commuter in the 21st century.
