Peru Transportation Profile

The presentation will provide a brief history of Peru including its topography, geography, culture, and transportation infrastructure. Many factors are present when other nations decide to assist in the event of a disaster and this country study gives information for planning purposes for military and NGOs on the country of Peru. Peru is a nation that has been plagued by natural disasters and currently has minimal emergency management experience. A detailed analysis of the transportation infrastructure, how military and humanitarian aid organizations can utilize the infrastructure, and current improvements being made to the transportation infrastructure will be discussed. The intent is to give students and faculty an overview of the country and discuss logistical issues that will need to be overcome in the event military or NGOs move into Peru to assist during a natural disaster.

Anita Terpanier, MML Student – NDSU

Anita Trepanier, Master of Managerial Logistics student. Captain Anita Trepanier is a transportation officer in the U.S. Army and has nine years of military service. Before entering the Master of Managerial Logistics program at NDSU, she was the Alpha Company commander, assistant support operations and transportation officer for the 210th Brigade Support Battalion during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 to 2008; operations and transportation officer with the 210th Forward Support Battalion from 2004 to 2006; and assistant S-3 and battle captain with the 101st Corps Support Group in 2003. Her decorations include the Bronze Star (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, and various service ribbons. Anita graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1999 with a BA in Criminal Justice and Sociology.
