Eva Shipp
Research Scientist
Texas A&M Transportation Institute

Dr. Shipp is an injury epidemiologist, formally trained in environmental and occupational health. She is a research scientist at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute's (TTI) Center for Transportation Safety, where she leads the Crash Analytics Team. She has nearly twenty years of experience designing and conducting population-based studies in worker health and safety. Since joining TTI three years ago, Dr. Shipp has participated in a number of projects funded by the Federal Highways Administration (FHWA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and other sponsors. These projects addressed understanding the health and safety of truck drivers, infrastructure-based countermeasures and motorcycle safety, and construction of a regional surveillance system for occupationally-related crashes, among other safety issues. Dr. Shipp also plays a primary role in the development and management of the federally-mandated Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) for Texas.
