John Case

John Case is a long-time leader in agricultural marketing, finance and management in the region. Case is currently a consultant on projects related to finance, grain procurement, agricultural markets and railroad investments. He was previously CEO and President of the Kellogg Commission Company and Kellogg Commodities in Minneapolis. He served in a similar capacity with the Atwood Kellogg and Atwood Commodities division of ConAgra, Inc. Those firms provided merchandising, financial, audit, freight, and management advisory services to rural grain elevators in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana.

He is a 45 year member of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange where he served on numerous committees including membership, building management, business conduct, arbitration, finance, exchange room, and nominations. As a member of the board of directors and president, he was involved in the Exchange's long-range planning and the search for its full-time CEO. He dealt with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and other regulatory agencies, oversaw staff and clearinghouse functions.

Case was also active in the National Grain and Feed Association as a board member and served on the association's weight and grades and membership committees. He served as chair of the transportation committee.

From 1980 to 1987 Case served on the city council and as mayor of Woodland, Minnesota. He has also served as member of a variety of corporate, foundation and non-profit boards. Since 2005 he has served in various management positions including two assignments as interim general manager/CEO of Lakewinds Natural Foods in Minnetonka. The cooperative organic and natural food grocery business has 17,000 members, two grocery stores and $27 million in annual sales.
