Steve Farden

Steve Farden, president of Farden Construction, will receive the Agrey Award. The Agrey Award, UGPTI's highest honor, recognizes Farden's entrepreneurial spirit, vision and leadership in North Dakota's trucking and construction industries.

Farden has been in the construction industry for more than 40 years in various roles, including laborer, equipment operator, field superintendent, and vice president and president of a third-generation business that currently has the fourth generation working in its operations. His family has been involved in the trucking industry for 105 years. Farden earned his associate of applied science degree in civil engineering and surveying technology from North Dakota State College of Science in 1991.

Farden is an innovator in the transportation and construction industry with his commitment, drive, and determination to make the impossible possible. He began building equipment for and moving drilling rigs in western North Dakota in the early 2000s, has built countless oil rig locations, and installed numerous pipelines to transport oil and gas in North Dakota. Farden Construction purchased Harris Construction in 2012 and began working on state highway projects, acquired Kemper Construction Company, a municipal underground company, in 2014, and purchased Stevens Welding and Machine, a Glenburn, ND, fabricating and welding business, in 2021.

Farden is a past chair of the Associated General Contractors of North Dakota Heavy Municipal Board and has testified at various North Dakota Legislative sessions on bills relating to the trucking industry.

Farden and his wife, Teralyn, have two daughters, Lila and Samantha.
