Jacob Chisholm is a senior in agricultural economics from Gary, MN. He plans to pursue a master's degree in agribusiness and applied economic at NDSU and then return to the family farm and work for American Crystal Sugar. Chisholm began farming in 2009 by renting farmland from his father. He has produced wheat, soybeans, dry edible beans and sugarbeets. This past summer he was a farm and international trade policy intern with the American Sugarbeet Growers Association in Washington, D.C. His work there gave him an enhanced awareness of the transportation challenges facing the sugar industry. At NDSU, Chisholm is a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity where he served in a leadership position for member recruitment. He has served as secretary of the NDSU Agribusiness Club and is an Ag Ambassador for the College of Agriculture, Food Systems and Natural Resources. He is also a big brother mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
