Staff Bio

Sowmya earned her Master of Science degree in Computer Science from New York Institute of Technology, NY and received her Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science Engineering from SWEC, India. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Software Engineering at North Dakota State University. Sowmya has 5 years of Professional IT experience in US and has teaching experience as instructor for Distance Learning program at NDSU.

As IT Program Manager of the Department of Transportation Support Center (DOTSC), Sowmya manages software development projects, assign and mentor student computer science staff. Responsible to develop projects in accordance with standards, review and improve development processes. She is also responsible for maintaining DOTSC servers, server administration, database administration.
