New Adhesive-Bonded Dynamic Message Signs Perform Well in Tests
Posted: Jan 11, 2022
Dynamic message signs provide key information for drivers. Researchers at South Dakota State University tested new signs that are constructed using adhesives rather than welding to assure that the signs will stand up the rigors of roadside use. In research with small-scale panels and full-size signs, the researchers found that the structural behavior of the dynamic message signs constructed with adhesives was similar to that of traditional welded signs. The findings will help sign producers better design adhesive-bonded dynamic message signs at lower costs with higher efficiency.
