NDSU Ph.D. Student Wins Ag Paper Award at Annual Transportation Research ForumPosted: May 31, 2019 Satpal Wadhwa an NDSU Ph.D. student in industrial and manufacturing engineering and a graduate research assistant with NDSU's Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute, received the 2019 Best Ag Transportation Paper Award at the Annual Transportation Research Forum in Washington D.C. May 2-4. His paper, "An Agent Based Simulation Model for Inland Hard Red Spring Wheat to Determine the Impact of Market Factors on Wheat Flows" described research to explore the impact that market factors, such as rail rates and farm storage costs, have on market flows. The research was supported by the North Dakota Wheat Commission. Co-authors on the paper were UGPTI researchers Kim Vachal and Alan Dybing. |
