University of Utah Faculty Member Receives Civil Engineering Honor

Chris Pantelides, professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Utah was elected an active member of the Academy of Civil Engineers at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, MO. The induction ceremony for Pantelides and 11 other honorees was April 19 in Rolla. The academy recognizes outstanding alumni for their professional achievement and success and it provides support and experience to help the civil, architectural and environmental engineering department at Missouri S&T to reach its collective mission and vision. Pantelides received his master of science and Ph.D. degrees from Missouri S&T in 1983 and 1987 respectively. He has supervised 14 Ph.D. and 34 master's students and has published 115 articles in professional journals, 69 technical reports and 170 conference proceedings publications. He also holds four patents.
