Lantz Receives Award for Service to TRB Truck and Bus Safety Committee

Lantz and Bernardo Kleiner, TRB Senior Program OfficerUGPTI associate director Brenda Lantz was awarded a certificate of appreciation recognizing her six years of service as chair of the Transportation Research Board's Truck and Bus Safety Committee. The committee focuses on motor carrier safety in all its aspects and includes research and evaluation in human, roadway, vehicle, operational, and organizational arenas as they relate to motor carrier safety. Under Lantz's leadership, the committee developed a strategic plan that included establishment of six subcommittees to focus on specific areas of motor carrier safety. The committee recently identified 61 truck and bus safety research and development needs in 11 different topical areas. These identified needs are intended to help establish priorities and guide research investment in motor carrier safety across the country.
