MPC student wins AASHTO paper award

Transportation and Logistics Ph.D. student Amin Keramati recently won the 2017 American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials GIS for Transportation Student Paper Contest. Kerimati will present the paper, "Solving the log-truck routing problem while accounting for forest road maintenance levels: a case study of Oregon" at the GIS for Transportation Symposium in Phoenix April 11. The symposium attracts more than 400 registrants in addition to the 30 exhibitors.
The study examined the travel time between wood mills and different timber areas while considering the imapct of forest road maintenance levels. Keramati also conducted an analysis of the impact of objective maintenance levels and improvement measures on travel time and optimized routes.
